A City With No Single Layout, and Care That Reflects That

Vancouver packs an unusual range of housing into a compact city: high-rise towers downtown and in the West End, low-rise character homes in Kitsilano and Point Grey, mid-century houses across the east side, and everything in between in Kerrisdale, Oakridge and Mount Pleasant. A caregiver visiting a 20th-floor condo needs to plan for concierge sign-in and elevator timing; one visiting an East Van character house is dealing with stairs, a separate laneway suite, or a yard.

We assign caregivers who already work in your part of the city, so visit times stay consistent and the plan is built around your actual home rather than a citywide average.

The right caregiver for a West End high-rise is not automatically the right one for an East Vancouver house with stairs to the door, and a good care plan starts with that distinction.

Vancouver Neighborhoods We Know

Vancouver is not one uniform community. These are the areas we plan care around most often.

West End & Downtown

Dense high-rise living where visits are planned around concierge sign-in, elevator access and building security.

Kitsilano & Point Grey

A mix of character houses and low-rise apartments, often close to the seawall, with an older, established resident base.

Kerrisdale & Oakridge

Established single-family streets with a notably older demographic, where families often want a familiar, consistent caregiver.

Mount Pleasant & East Vancouver

Older character homes, some with stairs to the front door or secondary suites, alongside a growing number of newer condo buildings.

Vancouver General and St. Paul's: Discharge Planning

Vancouver General Hospital, on West 12th Avenue, is the city's largest acute care and trauma centre and the hospital most Vancouver families deal with for major surgeries, emergencies and discharge planning. St. Paul's Hospital, on Burrard Street near downtown, is the other major acute care facility most central and West End residents interact with. Whichever hospital is involved, the days immediately after coming home are often when families feel least prepared, particularly around new medications, mobility restrictions or wound care instructions explained quickly at discharge.

Our hospital-to-home care and post-discharge nursing services are built to get a caregiver or nurse into the home soon after a VGH or St. Paul's discharge, reducing the risk of a return trip to the ER during that fragile first week.

Because Vancouver's housing and household types vary so much, we build each plan around a clinical assessment rather than a fixed package. Our full home care services page outlines everything available before you book an assessment.

Yes. Our hospital-to-home and post-discharge nursing services are designed for that exact transition, covering medication management, wound care and mobility support at home.

The core services are the same, but caregivers plan around the specific home: building access and concierge sign-in for a downtown or West End tower, stairs and yard access for an East Vancouver house.

Cost depends on weekly hours and whether nursing-level care is needed. A free in-home assessment gives an accurate estimate based on your family's specific situation.
